PatrIoT is SmartCone's multi-sensor data fusion engine — the foundation every device and deployment is built on. One platform, many sensor configurations, many environments.

Four capabilities, one engine

Every SmartCone device — TheSmartCone, SmartTorch, the PatrIoT Edge Node, and the multi-sensor wearable — runs the same underlying engine, configured for its environment.

Multi-sensor fusion

Accepts and fuses data from multiple heterogeneous, off-the-shelf sensor types on a single device.

Edge-native processing

Operates at the network edge under constrained on-board compute — decisions are made locally, without cloud dependency.

Fleet-scale management

Supports multi-tenant, containerized deployment for fleet-scale management.

Open integration

Exposes a remote API layer for data retrieval and device control.

How it's built

From sensor head to dashboard, the PatrIoT stack is a small number of purpose-built components rather than a monolith — each one replaceable, each one testable on its own.

Sensor head

Radar, LiDAR, video, thermal, biometric, environmental, RFID, or UWB — swappable per deployment.

SmartCone Guardian

Embedded firmware layer that reads the sensor head and generates a structured JSON object.

SmartCone Dispatcher

Controls on-device annunciators — sound, light, and vibration alerts.

SmartCone Engine

Master process on the device — configuration, and remote access for Guardian and Dispatcher.

Connectivity

MQTT / RESTful API over LTE, Private LTE, Wi-Fi, Sub-1GHz radio, Bluetooth LE, or GPS, secured with VPN/SSH.

Power & terminal

12VDC, RJ45, Wi-Fi, LTE, USB, Sub-1GHz, and BLE terminals for field power and charge management.

Rules engine

Evaluates sensor events against configurable logic to trigger alerts and actions.

Sensor fusion

Combines multiple sensor streams into a single, coherent detection.

Data mesh

Structures and routes device data for dashboards, APIs, and downstream systems.

The Rules Engine, Sensor Fusion, and Data Mesh run as containerized services on the Edge Cloud Server — the same containerized, multi-tenant deployment model that lets a fleet of units be managed as one system rather than as individual devices.

Click-IoT: modular by design

SmartCone's hardware is built around interchangeable sensor modules rather than a fixed sensor set. A field unit's sensor head can be reconfigured for a new use case — adding a thermal camera, an RFID reader, or a UWB module — without redesigning the base platform underneath it.

That modularity is what lets a single engineering platform show up as a roadside safety cone, a tunnel-mounted beacon, an airport ramp camera mast, or a worker-worn wearable: the same PatrIoT engine underneath, a different sensor and enclosure on top.
